The Book of the Revelation
CHAPTER 21
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
The number twelve is the number for Israel and it is also the number of government.
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them,
and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Israel is under the new covenant and God will dwell with his people and He will be their God and all will know him. There is no tabernacle or
temple in New Jerusalem because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into
their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are
true and faithful.
God has made all things new and this is the place where there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, nor pain for all the things
of former life on earth are passed away. This the beginning of a new dispensation when Christ will gather together in one all things. This
does not mean that time will end but it is the fulfillment of God’s plan. Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he
might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst
of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
These are the ones that over come the tribulation period and also the ones that are born during
the 1000-year reign of Jesus Christ and didn't follow the devil when he was let out of the bottomless pit. They are still in natural bodies
and must drink of the water of life and eat of the tree of life.
Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of
fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters,
and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
These are all the unsaved people that have been judged and cast into the lake of fire. The saved people may have done such things but the
blood of Jesus Christ has washed their sins away. This is the payment for all who have rejected what Jesus Christ done on the cross for them.
1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus,
and by the Spirit of our God.
Revelation 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked
with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem,
descending out of heaven from God,
The city is His wife, and she is likened to a city. Christ has a bride, New Jerusalem which is a woman and a city. The people in the city are
the over comers and they are dressed in white. Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of
all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their
hands; The Holy Jerusalem descends out of heaven but does not land on the earth. A point of it touches the earth because the kings of the
earth will bring their glory and honour into it.
Revelation 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and
honour into it.
Rev 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
The city comes down and shines likes a precious stone. Jasper is a diamond which comes in different colors and is made of carbon which makes
up all living things. Jasper is the main substance of this city because this is a living city.
Revelation 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which
are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
Revelation 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
Revelation 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
These are the twelve tribes of that are named in Revelation Chapter 7. The 12 apostles are the ones named in Matthew Chapter 10, except Judas
who by transgression fell and was replaced by Matthias.
Acts 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
Acts 1:26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Revelation 21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
Revelation 21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed,
twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
The city is a pyramid, it is not a square but it is foursquare. In miles it is about 1400 miles long, 1400 miles wide, and 1400 miles high.
Revelation 21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of
the angel.
Angels when they show up on earth take the form of a man. (Genesis 6:1-6; Genesis 18:1-22; Genesis 19:1-26; Luke 24:3-6).
Revelation 21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
Revelation 21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation
was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
Revelation 21:20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a
chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. The walls are made like clear glass. People will be able to see into the
city.
The foundation of the city is made up of precious stones and each one represented one of the twelve tribes of Israel. These are the 12 stones
on the breastplate of the priest in the Old Testament:
1. Emerald: a green stone that symbolizes Judah,
2. Sapphire: A blue stone that symbolizes Simeon.
3. Sardonyx: A red and white stone that symbolizes Dan.
4. Chalcedony: A white translucent stone that symbolizes Levi.
5. Topaz: A light yellow-orange stone that symbolizes Issachar.
6. Chrysolite: A gold stone that symbolizes Gad.
7. Beryl: A stone like frozen fire that symbolizes Asher.
8. Sardius: A brownish-red stone that symbolizes Nepthalim.
9. Jacinth: A dusty red stone that symbolizes Joseph.
10. Amethyst: A light purple crystal that symbolizes Benjamin.
11. Crysoprasus: A golden green stone that symbolizes Zabulon.
12. Jasper: A transparent crystal that symbolizes Reuben.
Revelation 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure
gold, as it were transparent glass.
The 12 gates are made up of 12 pearls which must be larger that the average man and the streets are pure transparent gold.
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
There is no temple in the Holy City because the Lord God Almighty and the lamb are there in person. The term Lord God Almighty is a term used when the scripture is talking about the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost.
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the
Lamb is the light thereof.
The glory of God lighten the city because God is light.
1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
This answer the question in Genesis Chapter one when there is light before the sun was created.
Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Revelation 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory
and honour into it.
There is no temple in the Holy City because the Lord God Almighty and the lamb are there in person. The term Lord God Almighty is a term use when the scripture is talking about the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. The people that go through the millennium do not have eternal life until after the Great White Throne Judgment and only if their names are in the book of life. These are literal, physical people in flesh and blood bodies on this earth in eternity. Remember why Adam was run out of the garden, because he could eat of the tree of life and live forever.
Revelation 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day for there shall be no night there.
Revelation 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a
lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
The gates are never shut and the Lord shall be the light of it. The people that have need to eat of the tree of life will be able to enter
into it to bring honor and glory from the earth. These are Gentiles nations that over come the tribulation period and were not deceived by
Satan when he was loosed out of the bottomless pit.
