The Book of the Revelation

CHAPTER 5

Revelation 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

Revelation 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

Revelation 5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

Revelation 5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

The book that John saw is the title deed to the universe. The heavens are not clean today but when the God of heaven and earth gives the Lord Jesus Christ the title deed to the universe. He will open the seal on the book and the tribulation started. Job 15:15 Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight. Genesis 14:22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, This is the same event that Daniel sees. The kingdom is given to the Lion of the tribe of Juda and He will put His enemies under His feet.

Daniel 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

There is no difficulty about who this. It is the Lord Jesus Christ, who came through the tribe of Judah and is called the son of David. Jesus Christ was God manifested in the flesh. He prevailed over sin and recovered what Adam lost in the garden. When He takes the title deed to heaven and earth He can now opens the first seal and the tribulation starts and He begins to pour out the wrath of God on the earth. Genesis 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Revelation 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

John gets to see the Lamb of God that had been pierced for a sacrifice. It is a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ with the crucifixion scars on Him.

Revelation 5: 7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

Revelation 5: 8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

Revelation 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

John sees the Lord Jesus Christ take the book that had seven seals and the vials that full of odors, which were the prayers of the saint in the tribulation period. They sang a new song about the lamb of God that was slain for the redemption of all kindred, tongue, people and nations. Nothing but the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ will take away their sins. Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth .

This is a fulfillment of the promise made to the Nation of Israel. They will rule and reign on earth as kings and priest.

Matthew 19: 28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Exodus 19: 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

1 Peter 2: 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Revelation 5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

Revelation 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Revelation 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Revelation 5:14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

All of God’s creatures in heaven and on the earth that the Lord Jesus Christ had created praised Him. They were created for His good pleasure. The four beast, the four and twenty elders said amen and worshiped Him that created all things.

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Colossians 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
